CAPROCK CANYON STATE PARK

Caprock Canyon State Park

We started in Comanche, TX during mid-March, and traveled all the way to Quitaque, TX. We camped in the park for three nights and was surprised by the starry sky at night. Caprock Canyon State Park is known for their official Texas Bison herd and prairie dogs. We reserved a base camp at the Wild Horse Campground and hiked up to Fern Cave taking the Upper Canyon trail.

Accommodations

In Caprock Canyons we stayed at an equestrian site (#75). Inside the park it is called Wild Horse Campground. There are rounded metal fences for the horses including water, picnic table, fire pit, and tent site.
